Herbert Shelton

Herbert M. Shelton (1895-1985) was an American naturopath, alternative medicine advocate, and prolific author who revived and championed the natural hygiene movement. He authored over 40 books and founded Dr. Shelton's Health School, promoting fasting, raw veganism, and the belief that the human body could heal itself without medical intervention. Despite facing legal challenges and criticism, he became a transformative figure in alternative health advocacy and was nominated for U.S. President by the American Vegetarian Party in 1956.
