Herbert Aptheker
Herbert Aptheker was an American Marxist historian, activist, and writer. He is best known for his pioneering work on the history of African Americans, particularly his studies on slavery and the Civil War, challenging prevailing racist interpretations of the past. Aptheker was also a prominent figure in progressive and communist political circles throughout his life.
