Herb Pohl

Herb Pohl was an Austrian-born Canadian canoeist renowned as 'Canada's most remarkable solo traveller' for his extensive solo expeditions over 40 years. He authored the memoir 'The Lure of Faraway Places,' which was published posthumously. Pohl tragically died at the mouth of the Michipicoten River on Lake Superior during a canoe trip.
