Henry Purcell

Henry Purcell (c. 1659–1695) was an English composer and organist of the middle Baroque era, widely regarded as one of England’s greatest composers. He wrote more than 100 songs, major stage works including Dido and Aeneas and The Fairy Queen, and important sacred and ceremonial music for the court and church.
