Henry Leifermann

Henry Peter Leifermann was an American journalist and author born on June 30, 1942, in Madison, Wisconsin, who reported on the civil rights movement for United Press International and worked for The New York Times and Newsweek.[1][5] He authored the travel guide South Carolina for Fodor's and the nonfiction book Crystal Lee, which inspired the film Norma Rae.[1][4][7] He died on September 2, 2016, in Augusta, Georgia, and was raised in Aiken, South Carolina, where he became the youngest Eagle Scout.[1][5]
