Henry Gleitman
Henry Gleitman was a prominent psychologist born in Leipzig, Germany, who earned his bachelor's from City College of New York and PhD from UC Berkeley, teaching at institutions like Cornell, Swarthmore, and the University of Pennsylvania where he served as professor and department chair.[1][2][4] He authored the influential textbook *Psychology* (first published 1981, now in eighth edition) and conducted research on animal learning, memory, forgetting, and language acquisition, often with his wife Lila Gleitman.[1][2] Gleitman died at age 90 on September 2, 2015.[1][2][3]
