Henry George
Henry George was an influential American political economist, social philosopher, and journalist best known for his 1879 book 'Progress and Poverty' and his advocacy of the 'single tax' on land values. He proposed that economic rent from unimproved land should belong equally to all members of society, a philosophy that became known as Georgism and inspired major reform movements during the Progressive Era.
