Henri Hubert

Henri Hubert (1872–1927) was a French archaeologist and sociologist of comparative religion best known for his work on the Celts.[4] He collaborated with Marcel Mauss on influential studies of sacrifice and ritual, differentiating between sacrifice and rituals of oblation, offering, and consecration.[5] He studied Christian church history at École Normale Supérieure and became a prominent figure in French sociology.[3]
