Helen Mort

Helen Mort (born 28 September 1985 in Sheffield) is a British poet, novelist, and creative nonfiction writer known for her poetry collections including Division Street (winner of the Fenton Aldeburgh Prize), No Map Could Show Them, and The Illustrated Woman (shortlisted for the Forward Prize). She has also published the novel Black Car Burning and the memoir A Line Above the Sky, teaches creative writing at Manchester Metropolitan University, and served as Derbyshire Poet Laureate from 2013 to 2015.
