Helen Macdonald
Helen Macdonald is a writer, poet, illustrator, naturalist, and affiliated research scholar at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge. She is best known for her bestselling memoir H Is for Hawk, which chronicles her grief over her father's death and her experience training a goshawk, winning the Samuel Johnson Prize and Costa Book of the Year. A former professional falconer, she has authored poetry collections like Shaler's Fish and the cultural history Falcon, and contributes to the New York Times Magazine.
