Helen Lester
Helen Lester (born June 12, 1936, in Evanston, Illinois) is an American children's author best known for her Tacky the Penguin series. Before becoming a full-time writer, she taught elementary school in Massachusetts, Illinois, and California, drawing from her experiences and childhood struggles to create humorous stories exploring themes like cooperation, guilt, and clumsiness.[1][2][6]
