Helaine Becker
Helaine Becker is a bestselling author of more than 100 books for children and young adults, including the international bestseller Counting on Katherine about mathematician Katherine Johnson[3][4]. Born in Plainview, New York, she graduated cum laude from Duke University with a degree in history and now resides in Toronto, Ontario, where she is also an accomplished painter and miniaturist[2][8]. She is a two-time recipient of the Lane Anderson Award and has won both the Silver Birch Award and the Red Cedar Award[4].
