Heinrich Vierbücher
Heinrich Vierbücher (1893–1939) was a German publicist, bookseller, and pacifist from a social democratic family who served as an interpreter for languages including Turkish, Arabic, English, and French during World War I in the Ottoman Empire, witnessing the Armenian Genocide. He authored the book 'Armenien 1915' in 1930, documenting the events, and was active in the Weimar peace movement, trade unions, and as an anti-Nazi speaker. Arrested by Nazis in 1933, he later opened an antiquarian bookshop in Berlin and died of a stroke in 1939 following a Gestapo visit.[1][2]
