Heidi Kilgras

Heidi Kilgras is an editorial director in children's publishing at Random House Children's Books, where she has managed the Step into Reading line for over 20 years.[1][2][3][5] She graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1987 and is also the author of several children's books, including the Step into Reading title Peanut.[1][3][4] Kilgras provides expertise on design elements in early reader books, emphasizing that illustrations should directly support the text for struggling readers.[5]
