Hedwig Dohm

Hedwig Dohm (1831–1919) was a German feminist writer and pioneering advocate for women's rights, known for her witty critiques of gender roles and demands for equal education, professional opportunities, and suffrage[1][2][3]. She published influential feminist treatises in the 1870s and novels exploring women's struggles against patriarchy, while also opposing World War I as a pacifist[5][6]. Dohm lived to see German women gain the vote in 1918 before her death in Berlin[3][6].
