Heather N. Hayenga

Dr. Heather N. Hayenga is an Associate Professor of Bioengineering at The University of Texas at Dallas, where she leads the Vascular Mechanobiology Lab focusing on mechanobiology, vascular growth and remodeling, biomechanics, and cardiovascular diseases.[1][3] She earned her BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California at Davis in 2006 and her PhD from Texas A&M University in 2011, joining UTD as an Assistant Professor in 2013.[1] Her research has been cited over 1,500 times, and she has personally shifted focus to genetic engineering aspects of rare cancers following her diagnosis.[2][4]
