Harold E. Raugh
Dr. Harold E. Raugh, Jr., is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel of infantry and senior Department of the Army civilian military historian, serving from 2002 to 2023 in positions culminating as Command Historian for U.S. Army Europe and Africa.[1][2] He earned a Ph.D. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master's degree in military history from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, authoring 17 military history books and over 895 articles and reviews.[1][3] A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and Royal Asiatic Society, he serves as Vice President and President of the International Commission of Military History.[1][5]
