Harmonie Toros is a Professor in Politics and International Relations at the University of Reading, specializing in conflict analysis, resolution, engagement with non-state armed groups, and the human experience of war.[1][2] She completed her PhD in 2010 at Aberystwyth University on 'Terrorism, Talking and Transformation: Northern Ireland and Mindanao,' following a BA in Contemporary History from Sussex, a MaƮtrise in History from Paris IV-Sorbonne, and a Masters in Conflict Resolution from Bradford; prior to academia, she worked as a reporter and editor for The Associated Press and Agence France-Presse.[3] Her research includes field work across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa, and she advises UN agencies, NATO, and governments while co-authoring works like 'Contemporary Conflict Resolution' (2024).[3][4]
