Hannes Leopoldseder
Hannes Leopoldseder (1940–2021) was an Austrian broadcast journalist and director who co-founded Ars Electronica in Linz in 1979 with Hubert Bognermayr, transforming the city from a steel industrial hub into a center for media arts.[1][2] He proposed the construction of the first Ars Electronica Center in 1991, which opened in 1996, and authored works on the festival's history and Prix Ars Electronica.[2][4][5]
