Hal Leonard Corporation

Hal Leonard Corporation, now Hal Leonard LLC, is the world's largest publisher of printed music, founded in 1947 in Winona, Minnesota, by musicians Harold 'Hal' Edstrom, Everett 'Leonard' Edstrom, and Roger Busdicker after their band disbanded. Starting with arrangements of popular music for school bands, it grew into a leading music publishing and distribution company, innovating in instructional products and digital music like SheetMusicDirect.com. In 1985, Keith Mardak and a management team acquired it from the founders; it was sold to Seidler Equity Partners in 2016 and is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
