H. Leighton Steward

H. Leighton Steward (1934-2022) was a geologist, environmentalist, author, and retired energy industry executive who served as Chairman and CEO of Louisiana Land and Exploration Company from 1989 to 1997, Vice Chairman of Burlington Resources until 2000, and President of Plants Need CO2.[1][3][5] He held a BS and MS in Geology from Southern Methodist University and authored books including Sugar Busters! (1998) and Fire, Ice and Paradise (2008).[2][3][4] Steward was known for advocating the benefits of CO2 and worked extensively in oil and gas exploration.[1][5][7]
