H. G. Liddell

Henry George Liddell was an English scholar, lexicographer, and dean of Christ Church, Oxford, best known for co-authoring the monumental Greek-English Lexicon (with Robert Scott). He also served as headmaster of Westminster School and was the father of Alice Liddell, the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's 'Alice' books.
