Guy Gavriel Kay

Guy Gavriel Kay is a Canadian fantasy fiction writer born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, on November 7, 1954, who assisted Christopher Tolkien in editing The Silmarillion early in his career before publishing his debut novel, The Summer Tree, in 1984.[1][3][6] His novels are set in fictional worlds inspired by historical periods like Byzantine Constantinople and medieval Spain, and have been translated into over 22 languages, earning him awards including the World Fantasy Award and Aurora Awards.[1][2][6] He is also a qualified lawyer and poet, residing in Toronto.[1][2][6]
