Guinness World Records

Guinness World Records is not an author but a reference book concept created by Sir Hugh Beaver, managing director of the Guinness Brewery, in the early 1950s to settle pub arguments. Twin brothers Norris and Ross McWhirter, sports journalists, co-founded and compiled the first edition, which was published in 1955 as the Guinness Book of Records and became the world's best-selling copyrighted book.
