Grolier

Jean Grolier de Servières (c. 1489/90 – 1565) was a French Treasurer-General, ambassador, and renowned bibliophile famous for his patronage of the Aldine Press and richly decorated bookbindings.[1][2] Born in Lyon to a family of Italian descent, he rose in the French court through his financial talents and collected an exceptional library during his time in Rome.[1][2] The Grolier Club in New York is named after him in honor of his legacy in book arts.[5]
