Grevel Lindop

Grevel Charles Garrett Lindop (born 6 October 1948) is an English poet, academic, literary critic, biographer, and essayist born in Liverpool and educated at Oxford.[1][4][6] He lectured at the University of Manchester for 30 years, retiring as Professor of Romantic and Early Victorian Studies in 2001 to work as a freelance writer, and has published numerous poetry collections with Carcanet since 1977, along with acclaimed biographies and travel writing.[3][6][9] Lindop now lives in Manchester, contributes to publications like the Times Literary Supplement, and chairs the Academic Board of the Temenos Academy.[5][6][8]
