Greater London Council
The Greater London Council (GLC) was the top-tier local government administrative body for Greater London from 1965 to 1986, succeeding the London County Council. It was responsible for strategic planning, housing, transport, and other regional services, and published many official reports and policy documents. The GLC was abolished in 1986 under the Local Government Act 1985.
