Gloria Whelan
Gloria Whelan (born November 23, 1923) is an American poet, short story writer, and novelist known primarily for children's and young adult fiction, including historical novels set in various global locations and her native Michigan. She won the National Book Award for Young People's Literature in 2000 for Homeless Bird and has published over fifty books for young readers, as well as works for adults.[1][2][3]
