Girard Miller

Girard Miller is a retired finance columnist for Governing Magazine, having contributed around 200 biweekly columns after five years of monthly 'Benefits Beat' commentary until his retirement in January 2026. Formerly an investment and public finance professional with a 45-year career, including presidency of two national mutual funds, he authored the 2019 book 'Enlightened Public Finance' and numerous publications. He now resides in southern California, continues occasional guest commentaries, and has sponsored collegiate scholarships in his field for 25 years.[1]
