Gerry Heery

Gerry Heery is a social worker and probation officer based in Northern Ireland, where he has worked since 1981, specializing in preventing violence in relationships, families, and communities, particularly with males who use violence. Growing up in Belfast during the 1960s and 1970s amid conflict, he initially pursued other paths including time in Dundee, Scotland, before switching to social administration and entering social work. His career includes roles in probation, youth justice, and currently a project with young parents in a Young Offenders Centre.
