Gerald J. Alred is a Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an internationally recognized author specializing in business and technical communication. He is the co-author of notable handbooks such as 'The Business Writer's Handbook' and 'Handbook of Technical Writing,' and received the 2004 Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication. His scholarly work includes numerous articles, annotated bibliographies, and contributions to the editorial board of the Journal of Business and Technical Communication.
