Georgette Heyer
Georgette Heyer was an English novelist and short-story writer who essentially established the historical romance genre and its Regency romance subgenre. Born in Wimbledon in 1902, she began her writing career in 1921 and became known as the 'Queen of Regency romance,' publishing prolifically until her death in 1974. From 1944 onward, she focused almost exclusively on Regency novels, becoming renowned for her brilliant wit, superb prose, and memorable stories.
