George RR Martin

George R. R. Martin (born September 20, 1948, Bayonne, New Jersey) is an American author, screenwriter, and television producer best known for his epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into the HBO series Game of Thrones. He began writing young, selling his first professional story in 1971, published his debut novel Dying of the Light in 1977, and has won multiple Hugo and Nebula Awards.[1][2][3]
