George Q. Cannon
George Q. Cannon was a prominent leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as an Apostle in the Quorum of the Twelve and as a counselor in the First Presidency under four church presidents. Born in Liverpool, England, he immigrated to the United States as a youth and became a successful missionary in Hawaii, where he translated the Book of Mormon into Hawaiian. He was also a journalist, editor, publisher, and influential businessman who played a key role in Utah's development toward statehood.
