George Pelecanos
George P. Pelecanos is an American author, producer, and television writer born in Washington, D.C., best known for his crime novels set in and around the city, including the Nick Stefanos and Derek Strange series.[2][3] Before publishing his debut novel A Firing Offense in 1992, he worked various jobs such as line cook, dishwasher, bartender, and shoe salesman.[3] He has collaborated extensively with David Simon on HBO series like The Wire, Treme, The Deuce, and We Own This City, earning critical acclaim and awards.[2][1]
