George MacDonald
George MacDonald (1824-1905) was a Scottish author, poet, and Congregational minister who pioneered modern fantasy literature and mentored Lewis Carroll.[1][2] He wrote influential fantasy novels like *Phantastes* and *Lilith*, children's stories such as *The Princess and the Goblin*, and Christian theology including sermons.[1][2] His romantic vision of spiritual realities influenced writers like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and G.K. Chesterton.[2][9]
