George Gershwin

George Gershwin was an American composer and pianist born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 26, 1898, who began his musical career as a song plugger and gained fame with works like 'Swanee' and 'Rhapsody in Blue.' Collaborating with his brother Ira, he composed iconic Broadway musicals, popular songs such as 'Embraceable You,' and the opera 'Porgy and Bess,' blending jazz, popular, and classical styles.
