George Ellison
George Ellison (1941–2023) was an American naturalist, conservationist, and author based in Bryson City, North Carolina. He wrote widely on the Great Smoky Mountains and Appalachian nature, including a long-running “Nature Journal” column and books such as *Permanent Camp* and works on writer Horace Kephart.
