George E. Stevens
George E. Stevens '52 was an American educator and Princeton alumnus born in Buffalo, New York. He served as headmaster of New Canaan Country School starting in 1963, where he founded Horizons in 1965, a pioneering program to provide cultural and academic enrichment to disadvantaged children that eventually expanded to 15 communities nationwide. An English major at Princeton who played varsity football, Stevens dedicated his lifetime to educational advancement and civic engagement.
