George Dennis

George Dennis (1814–1898) was a British explorer and excavator who conducted significant archaeological work in Etruria, Italy. He is best known as the author of The Cities and Cemeteries of Etruria, a seminal work on Etruscan civilization. Dennis also served as a consular official and collected artifacts on behalf of the British Museum during his various postings.
