Geoffrey Taylor

Sir Geoffrey Ingram Taylor (1886-1975) was a British physicist and mathematician renowned for his pioneering contributions to fluid dynamics, wave theory, and turbulence. He studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he earned scholarships and prizes for his research on shock waves and atmospheric turbulence, later applying his expertise to military problems during World War II, including blast waves and the Manhattan Project.
