Geoffrey C. Gurtner, MD, FACS, is a prominent plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a leading researcher in wound healing, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. He serves as the Johnson & Johnson Distinguished Professor of Surgery at Stanford University, where he directs the Gurtner Laboratory. His work has significantly advanced the understanding of mechanotransduction and the development of novel therapies for chronic wounds.
