Gennady Estraikh

Gennady Estraikh is a British and American philologist, literary historian, and professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University, specializing in Yiddish language and Soviet Jewish culture. Born in 1952 in Zaporozhye, Ukraine, he was a former managing editor of the Moscow-based Yiddish literary monthly Sovetish Heymland and has authored numerous publications on Yiddish literature and history.
