Gavin Stamp
Gavin Stamp (1948–2017) was a British architectural historian, writer, and conservationist known for his campaigns to preserve Victorian and 20th-century architecture, including his role in the Victorian Society and founding the Alexander Thomson Society. Educated at Dulwich College and Cambridge, he worked as a draughtsman, journalist, and professor at Glasgow's Mackintosh School of Architecture from 1990, writing under the pseudonym 'Piloti' for Private Eye and authoring books like *An Architect of Promise* on George Gilbert Scott Jr.[1][2][3]
