Gavan Daws

Gavan Daws is an Australian-American historian and best-selling author born in 1933 in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. He earned his Ph.D. in Pacific history from the University of Hawaii and is renowned for his works on Hawaiian history, including 'Shoal of Time: A History of the Hawaiian Islands' and 'Holy Man: Father Damien of Moloka'i'.
