Gary J. Whitehead

Gary Joseph Whitehead is an American poet and educator born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He is the author of four full-length poetry collections, including A Glossary of Chickens (selected by Paul Muldoon for the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets) and Strange What Rises, as well as three chapbooks. His poems have appeared widely in publications including The New Yorker, and he teaches English and creative writing at Tenafly High School in New Jersey.
