Garrett Chatfield Pier

Garrett Chatfield Pier (1875-1943) was an Egyptologist, Assyriologist, and museum curator who studied at Columbia University and various Egyptian and European museums. He served as assistant curator of decorative arts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, interpreting Japanese textiles and publishing works such as 'Pottery of the Near East' (1909) and 'Temple Treasures of Japan.' Pier also discovered and published a new historical stela of the Intefs in Egypt in 1903.[1][2][3][5][6]
