Gail Tuchman
Gaye Tuchman (likely intended as Gail Tuchman) is an American sociologist, professor emerita at the University of Connecticut, and author of the influential 1978 book *Making News: A Study in the Construction of Reality* on news production. Her research focuses on the sociologies of culture including media, gender, and higher education. She previously taught at Queens College, CUNY, and served as past president of the Eastern Sociological Society.
