G. K. Shaw

George Bernard Shaw was an Irish playwright, critic, polemicist, and political activist best known for works such as *Pygmalion* and for his major influence on modern drama. He was born in Dublin in 1856, moved to London in 1876, became a leading critic and Fabian Society member, and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1925.
