G A Henty

George Alfred Henty (1832-1902) was a prolific English novelist and war correspondent, best known for his adventure and historical fiction aimed at boys, often set during periods of British imperialism. He served in the Crimean War before transitioning to journalism and writing over 100 books, drawing from his historical research and personal experiences. Henty died on his yacht in Weymouth Harbour, Dorset.
